HORNET è una scheda con microcontrollore ARM utilizzata in diversi nostri prodotti.
È basata su un processore ARM7 NXP LPC2468 a 72MHz, con diverse espansioni di memoria e la gran parte delle connessioni disponibili sui due connettori a passo 100mils e con interasse multiplo di 100 mils, in modo che puó essere utilizzata sulle schede di prototipazione.
Si interfaccia tramite una porta USB2 (CY68013) e due canali RS232, è presente inoltre un connettore per un LCD di testo ed uno per il tipo grafico.
Completa la scheda anche una interfaccia per Secure Digital.
La scheda è completa di un programma di gestione detto Monitor, permette di effettuare diagnosi dell’hardware ed ha diverse applicazioni per funzioni di sviluppo.
Per lo sviluppo di applicativi trovate disponibile in mdi un IDE che utilizza un ARM GNU Toolchain, completo di librerie.

HORNET is a board with ARM microcontroller that is used in various our products.
It is based on a ARM7 NXP LPC2468 72MHz processor with various memory expansions and most connections available at the two connectors with 100mils spacing and with 100mils multiple distance, so that it can be used for prototype boards.
The I/O interface is based on a USB2 port (CY68013) and two RS232 canals.
Furthermore, there is a connector for a text LCD and another for graphics LCD.
The board is completed with an interface for Secure Digital.
The board has a handle program (Monitor), allowing to perform hardware diagnostic, and various development applications.
In order to develop applications an IDE that uses an ARM GNU Toolchain complete with libraries, is available in mdi.

MODELS

Lite:
Basic and very cheap system RAM (96 KByte) and FLASH (512KByte) are built in the ARM.
Code can be loaded and executed into RAM/FLASH.

Plus:
Enhanced version with external SDRAM (32MByte), NAND FLASH (276MByte) and NOR FLASH (4MByte).
Code can be executed into builtin RAM/FLASH and to external RAM/FLASH via preloaded MONITOR.

SOFTWARE
Surely, one of the strengths of Hornet is the rapidity with which you are able to create the desired application.
The application for development in C language is a plugin for the mdi environment named ARMD.
ARMD allows to write applications in C language (it is a compiler based on GCC 4.2.2 + newlib 2.4.0.1) but above all it allows you to configure all the peripherals of a microcontroller via a graphical interface very intuitive.
It is an environment where you can edit, compile and run your own code on your target.
In the standard distribution there are several project files from which you can make real account of how easy it is to start work immediately!
It is demonstrated that with a minimal knowledge of C language it is possible to realize an application without to have a deep knowledge of this microcontroller.

LPC:                  Library for configuration and managing of the hardware. To manage an interrupt of LPC2468 is a real game!
CONSOLE:        Generic input/output library (printf, scanf, etc)
FRAMEWORK: Library for remote interfacing
CHARLCD:       Library for Text LCD interfacing; there are commands for menu generation and so on
SD:                   Library for SD card
FAT32:             File system windows compatible
MICROSTEP:   Library for managing of optional microstepping interface
