Noise
When we use the term noise refers to fluctuations in the signal randomly.
In nature, the noise is present everywhere, the light itself, even if emitted by a source ultra stable, has fluctuations that are intrinsic to its quantum nature.
The CCD is no exception and features of unwanted noise.
The noise present in a CCD can be classified into two different types: TEMPORAL and SPATIAL.
The TEMPORAL can be reduced by an average of images while the SPATIAL can be correct it with the typical DARK and FLAT operations.
Rumore
Quando si usa il termine rumore ci si riferisce ad una fluttuazione del segnale in modo casuale.
In natura il rumore e' presente ovunque, la luce stessa, anche se emessa da una sorgente ultra stabile, presenta fluttuazioni che sono intrinseche alla sua natura quantistica.
Il CCD non fa certo eccezione e presenta caratteristiche di rumore non volute.
Il rumore presente in un CCD puo' essere classificato in due diversi tipi: TEMPORALE e SPAZIALE.
Il TEMPORALE puo' essere ridotto tramite la media di immagini mentre quello SPAZIALE e' possibile correggerlo con le tipiche correzioni di DARK e FLAT.
