Quantum Phenomena Explorer (QPE)

Quantum Phenomena Explorer** is an interactive C++/Qt Explorer Tutor for visualizing and studying a curated set of quantum phenomena. The application contains 54 frozen guided experiments, ranging from scalar Schrodinger wave packet dynamics through driven two-level phenomena, quantum chaos and interference, gauge-field experiments, and a two-component effective Dirac branch.

This Doxygen site documents the implementation of QPE. The bilingual application Help documents the physics as experienced by the user. The two layers are intentionally complementary:

  • application Help: what the phenomenon is, what to vary, what QPE shows, what it does not show, experimental history and representative real-world scales;
  • Doxygen: how the program represents the state, propagates it, computes observables, routes experiments, renders results, persists documents and validates regressions.
Warning
QPE is educational/scientific exploration software, not a certified measurement instrument and not a universal precision simulator. Each experiment must be interpreted within the assumptions documented in the bilingual Help and in Physics models and interpretation limits.

Architectural principle

The project follows one rule that is worth keeping in mind while reading the source:

‍Compute the physics once, expose it in many views.

Scientific renderers, plots, contours, bloom, tone mapping and other display operations consume computed state; they do not feed modified pixels or post-processed values back into the wave function/spinor or the numerical solver. This boundary is central to the project and should be preserved by future contributions.

Supported toolchain

The release tree targets C++14, Qt 5.15.2, MSVC 2019 x64 and the existing qmake/Visual Studio project files. Do not introduce C++17 language features into release code unless the project baseline is deliberately changed.
